Here and There

Just a few random pictures of the past few days to post.  It has been hot and humid, so anything around water has been a relief.

Saturday the 24th, we rode our bikes from Liberty Station up and out to Point Loma.  This point overlooking the entrance to San Diego Bay has wonderful views of the open ocean as well as the bay, Coronado Island, and the San Diego skyline.  That is Coronado Island on the other side of the sailboats.

This is the lighthouse on Point Loma.  It has been restored as a little museum.

Big jump - yesterday we spent the day in Laguna Beach.  Here, Gail sniffs the roses on the beautiful pathway above the ocean.

Why a picture of a beanbag chair?  Hah!  This is no ordinary specimen, it is made entirely of stainless steel.  Why?  This was one of the objects at the Laguna Beach Art Museum that was part of an exhibit of trompe-l'oeil and other illusionary art.

Giant cupcake?  Wrong!  This is a bomb shelter, complete with knitted gas mask inside.

Then it was off to the nearby Crescent Cove beach, our favorite for swimming, snorkeling, and getting body whomped in the surf.  Our day ended with a toasty swim in our backyard pool where the water temperature was in the 90's  -  sweet!

We have had a new guest, lately, a beautiful spider that likes our back porch area.  Halloween - just around the corner!
