Sue and Paul Visit

My cousin Sue and her partner Paul came to visit on July 30th until August 3rd.  They live in Herndon Virginia and had flown to Las Vegas, drove to Bishop for a backpacking trip, drove to San Francisco to see Paul's brother, and then drove here before flying out of Portland.  They kind of did the fire tour of the west coast.

We had good times hanging out here, seeing some local spots in town, and doing a little hiking and biking.  We also had dinner out with Lorie and Brian up in Newport at the remarkable waterfront restaurant "Clearwater".

We biked out to the covered bridge.  Here Paul, Sue, and Gail ogle the nearby HUGE Sitka Spruce tree.

We hiked down to Drift Creek one day, a 5 mile out and back.

They enjoyed some Oregon style tidepooling.  From there we went for lunch at Yachats Brewing.

Yachats Brewing prides itself in using local farm fresh ingredients.  They do all sorts of fermentation foods, not just beer.
