Haceta Head

Saturday, July 28, we drove down to Haceta Head to photograph nesting birds on the offshore rocks. Gail had stopped by there the day before and thought it would be a great photo opportunity. Unfortunately, the overcast sky meant less than great pictures for birds, but the sights were still well worth the trip.

Looking down the coast from Haceta Head.

This large offshore rock still had remaining nesting Brandt's Cormorants and Common Murres.

Just a small portion of the hundreds of cormorants and murres on the above rock.

There was a lot of coming and going with adults bringing food for nestlings and fledglings.

A steady stream of cormorants was bringing back nesting material, also.
