The suspected beaver on the cam from earlier this month showed up again. This time the cam shows a clear view of its tail, and it definitely looks like a beaver, not a nutria.
I remember startling a beaver once in the Boundary Waters when we were canoeing. It SLAPPED! the water with its tail so loud it sounded like a gunshot! We were sufficiently warned. :)
