Learning to Draw

We have been taking a drawing class, free, offered by Mira Costa College, at the senior center in Oceanside.  You don't have to be a senior to attend, but a number of people were turned away due to the class's popularity.  Our teacher is France-Marie Haeger, an artist, author, and teacher who is from French Switzerland.  She has been a delight to listen to, as she encourages us along.  She has no reluctance in sharing her opinions on any subject!

This is a Black Tailed Prairie Dog that I drew last week using a black artist's pen.

Gail made this handsome Jack Rabbit with pencil.

Yesterday, I drew this Southern Flying Squirrel, again with pen.  We made our pictures from wildlife photographs.  I should mention that since being in the class we have gained even more respect for true drawing artists like Nick!

Our class meets every Monday for 3.25 hours, and includes an occasional expert led art museum field trip.
