Gail is pointing to a man who is wearing a jacket exactly like her father's jacket that she showed me a few days ago. She said I would really have that rockabilly look if I wore it. It turned out later in the evening that this man is a famous upright bass player and did a guest appearance with Reverend Horton Heat - he played the heck out of the upright bass, so Gail really did know what she was talking about!
A couple thought we needed our picture taken, so we humored them.Inside The Belly Up.
When feeling full of ourselves, we usually do the obligatory hand held self portrait shot.
The Reverend Horton Heat! For a taste of his music try this one on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0vwTocA6lE As you can tell, we are up against the stage, front and center, where Gail likes it.
Quite the performers!
The first group to play was the Tijuana Panthers. They were a young trio with a fresh, fun sound. Towards the end of the evening, we bought their vinyl album, which they signed for us - friendly and humble folks they were. Here is a link to one of their most popular songs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pcw0pMX_7Oo
This autographed album sleeve will be worth thousands someday.
Happy 2013!!!
