What a cool experience! That must have been very satisfying. Had you and Nick found the one pelican, or was she at an animal shelter and you transported her up for IBRCC?....
I love the idea of you having pet pelicans that you let out to splash around and then take back home. If I were 6 again, I'd write a story about that.
I think this is just the neatest series of photos and videos on the pelican release. The pelicans seemed to really cooperate and fairly quickly acclimate and "fly off into the sunset." And the backdrop of the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge in these photos is just the coolest.
The two floated for a couple minutes...
then headed out to sea under the Golden Gate (lower right corner).
