Due to nest box camera failure, we did not get to count April's ducklings or see them leave and enter the water. About four weeks after hatching we did capture on trail cam a Hooded Merganser with three ducklings swimming by. Although we think April had at least six eggs, the video showed three ducklings. The river was high and moving fast when they left the box which may have had an impact on their survival. We don't know for sure if this duck is April, but we haven't seen any other "Hoodies" since they left the box.
