We've had a number of wet days the past few weeks and we are deep into fall. The apples and pears are dropping, and large mammals are dropping by.
Shaggy Mane mushrooms are edible but finnicky. We haven't experimented with them yet.
The upturned scales are a key identifier.
A not so dead log.

Wow, what a beauty of a black bear that is. I agree with Andria - that log with mushrooms is a colorful work of art.
