Boden Canyon, Last Time?

It has been a busy and stressful month for us buying a home in Oregon and simultaneously selling our home in Carlsbad. If all goes to plan, we should be in our new place in the Yachats River Valley in one month.

We did manage to get our two cams out to Boden Canyon 12 days ago, and hike back today to see what we had. Hiking has been such a relief from the packing and uncertainties of the past month!  We had our usual suspects on the cams.

Even though this is just February 2, this warm dry weather we've been having has brought out numerous lizards, including a horned lizard we saw today.

Gray Fox

Mule Deer

Mountain Lion

This muddy stretch along the old road had a variety of tracks.  The larger ones are mostly dog.  Since all my tracking books are packed up, I'm not entirely certain of my ID's of the small ones.

 Ground Squirrel tracks, I believe.

 Opossum tracks

Woodrat tracks, I believe.

Raccoon tracks

These two large ants were locked in battle.  They were still going at it after we left them.

Mountain Lion track, one of a series that we spotted on the road.
